Digest11 began as a simple question: what does the open web actually contain? Not what algorithms surface, not what sponsored results promote — but what domains exist, what they offer, and how they fit into a legible taxonomy. The answer is this notebook.
Eight hundred and twenty-seven sites are logged here across 22 field sections. Each was individually submitted or encountered during field work, reviewed against basic criteria, and filed under the most appropriate heading. The taxonomy is deliberately broad — 22 sections covering everything from dental practices to wagering platforms, from film companies to industrial chemical suppliers.
The field notebook approach means completeness over curation. Digest11 does not rank sites against each other, promote paid placements, or apply editorial preference for larger or more recognisable brands. A single-chair dental practice receives the same treatment as a multinational insurance group — both get a line in the notebook.
Submission is free and open to any site owner. Entries are reviewed before filing; not every submission is accepted, but the bar is basic: the site must be real, reachable, and fit the stated category. The notebook is maintained by a small independent team with no commercial stake in the sites listed.
